The Center for Wellbeing Research at Keio University aims at continuously improving public services and achieving well-being of individuals by integrating life sciences, information and manufacturing; organically combining findings across research fields; accelerating technological innovation and social implementation; building mechanisms to generate new sectors/industries in communities; and constructing and leveraging an integrated social security database that constitutes the basis of various activities. The center is located at Tonomachi Campus Town in Kawasaki City.

Health and Global Policy Institute

Established in 2004, Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) is an independent, non-profit, non-partisan health policy think tank that works to realize citizen-centric health policies. HGPI is one of Japan’s leading health policy think tanks and was ranked third worldwide in Domestic Health Affairs in the Global Go To Think Tank Index Report. HGPI operates globally in areas such as research, generating policy recommendations, and organizing conferences.

Dementia Friendship Club

The Dementia Friendship Club (DFC) is a non-profit network organization that works to build dementia-friendly communities. It has branches at 21 locations across Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa. Collaborating with parties like municipalities, businesses, and community associations, the DFC promotes activities to build communities where people can maintain their ways of living even if they develop dementia.

issue+design is a non-profit organization and is a team of designers working together to resolve a wide variety of issues related to topics like healthcare, welfare, childrearing, education, disaster control, town planning, and population decline that exist in communities or Japanese society at large. With its slogan of “Applying the creativity of individuals to the issues of society,” issue+design works on a number of co-creation projects with community members, people affected by disasters, healthcare beneficiaries, and others affected by the issues they aim to resolve.
