Past experiences

2017年(60)

When working as a manager of an apartment building and visiting other apartments for support, others worried about me because I was not able to bring things that they asked me.
Although such things had not happened when managing my apartment, I was concerned and visited a specialized hospital near my home.

Diagnosis

2018年(61)

I received a diagnosis of dementia. I did not know why I was chosen. However, I was thankful to medical professionals and others who helped me for finding it out in a timely manner and without delay.
I consulted a general hospital and started taking medication. However, I had to change medicines several times before medication that suited me was found.
I applied for the long-term care insurance and began going to a day care center 3 times a week where young adults with the disease gathered.
I actively went out to meetings for silver worker and volunteer recruitment by myself.

2019年(62)

I was hospitalized for a month due to cardiopulmonary arrest from an intestinal blockage.
(Although my memories of the time are not clear,) I had a sense that I was revived and born again.
I stopped going to the day care I had been using before the cardiopulmonary arrest after the hospitalization.
A group of people with juvenile dementia that I had made contact with before my hospitalization invited me to participate in farming, and, through this connection, I now give lectures on day care and dementia whenever I have opportunities.
