Diagnosis

2015年(81)

I almost fall for an “it's me” telephone scam.

I became not able to figure out how to open a water valve or turn on a light. I was taken to the hospital by my husband and daughter and diagnosed with cerebrovascular dementia.

I started to live with my daughter and use day services. I also used short-stay services when necessary. I did watering for plants, hanging laundry to dry, mopping, etc. Sometimes I went out for shopping with her.

2019年(85)

I moved into a serviced residence for the elderly.
I helped with folding laundry and cleaning.

2020年(86)

Considering my will to continue working, my daughter is seeking a place where people with dementia and their families can get together and do handiwork, etc. I hope to find a place that is neither a day service nor a dementia cafe, but a place for social participation where people in the community are also involved and I could have conversation with them.

Something you would like to do in the future

I enjoy taking on any challenges. I played boccia, did great and won the championship. I also walked together in Run-tomo and finished the race with skipping steps at the end. In the future, I want to work and sing.

Challenges in daily living

Physical and mental dysfunctions

Message to the society

I would like a system to be created that allows people who have diseases but are physically well to work and participate in the society.
