Past experiences

2007年(55)

I became aware of my forgetfulness, e.g., forgetting to bring things.

2010年(58)

I started to take more notes. My head felt cluttered, and I started to have trouble with my work.
When I came home from work, although not all the time, I would say, "I am so tired. I am bored of my work."
My wife began to feel something was wrong with my language.

Diagnosis

2011年(59)

I started to look for things at home, and my mind felt cluttered.
Around that time, I found a newspaper flyer about forgetfulness and went to a local clinic, thinking that this might be what I had been experiencing.
I was diagnosed with juvenile Alzheimer's dementia.
My wife later found out that I was consulting an industrial physician at that time, and there seemed to have been various problems at work, but I kept quiet and did not tell anyone until my retirement.

2012年(60)

I retired from work.

2013年(61)

While searching for a job at Hello Work, I attended meetings for family members of people with the disease.

2015年(63)

On the advice of the family group, I received a long-term care certification and started to use day care services.
