Past experiences

2009年(35)

Days of feeling satisfaction at work, such as achieving top sales results.
Became concerned about not being able to recognize people's faces/names and not being able to remember things as well as other people could.
Making more mistakes at work and receiving more frequent scolding from my supervisor.

2012年(38)

I went to a neighborhood clinic on my own and was referred to Kohnan Hospital. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks for examination and then went to a university hospital. I was feeling anxious and unable to stop crying.

Diagnosis

2013年(39)

After undergoing a series of examinations at the university hospital, I was diagnosed with juvenile Alzheimer's dementia. I thought "Alzheimer" meant "the end" and cried alone from shock.

2015年(41)

When I informed the company of my diagnosis and my willingness to continue working no matter what my roles would be, the president told me to come back to work because he would create an environment in which I could work. With surprise and happiness, my eyes welled up.
After doing research on the Internet, I joined the Miyagi branch of the "Association of People with Dementia and Their Families (認知症の人と家族の会)."
Launched and served as the representative of the organizing committee for "Orange Door," a general consultation service on forgetfulness for people diagnosed with dementia.

With my experience as a top salesman, I have been assigned to conduct employment interviews and corporate presentations at work.
